Lioto and the Lioness is an authentic Masai legend, remembered and
written for children by David Read who grew up with the Masai in an
area know today as the Serengeti. It tells the story of how a Masai
boy and a lioness become friends by helping each other, resulting
in a lasting connection between lions and the Purko clan of the
Masai. The book features lovely illustrations and some interesting
facts about the Masai. It is a great way to introduce children to
this fascinating people and their culture.
