Set in 1950s New York, two women from very different backgrounds find themselves in the throes of love.

A young woman in her 20s, Therese Belivet, is a clerk working in a Manhattan department store and dreaming of a more fulfilling life when she meets Carol, an alluring woman trapped in a loveless, convenient marriage. As an immediate connection sparks between them, the innocence of their first encounter dims and their connection deepens. While Carol tries to break free from the confines of marriage, her husband threatens her competence as a mother when Carol’s involvement with Therese and close relationship with her best friend Abby comes to light.

Well worth the wait!!!

Firstly, I take my hat off yet again to a very fast and efficient service from Loot, I was expecting delivery 20th May but I received my order beginning of May. This movie is worth purchasing for your DVD collection. I take my hat off to the director Todd Haynes who stuck to the authenticity of the novel which Carol was adapted on. The performances from both Cate Blanchette and Rooney Mara is a well done movie. I highly recommend this movie and it deserves a five star.
