1903. With translations of the life of the master by his scholar,
Ascanio Condivi, and three dialogues from the Portuguese by
Francisco D'Ollanda. Ascanio Condivi, a pupil and friend of the
masters, he had long been collecting materials for his record of
Vita di Michelangelo Buonarroti. Of all the many lives of Michael
Angelo that have been written, that by Ascanio Condivi is the most
valuable. For English readers Holroyd's translation is considered
quite useful.
