1904. With 20 full-page portraits. Clark E. Carr was one of
Galesburg's leading citizens in the late nineteenth and early
twentieth centuries - lawyer, newspaper editor, postmaster, orator,
writer and influential in politics and the community. Carr was
thoroughly informed concerning the leading events that shaped the
history of the state of Illinois. His comprehensive knowledge of
all such was the basis of his authorship of several most
interesting volumes including this fictionalized account, which is
divided into three books: The Pioneer; Political Upheaval; and In
Wartime.
