• Clean the parts to be joined
• Clean soldering iron tip and "tin" all faces of tip with a coating of solder
• Heat parts (not solder) to be joined
• Apply flux-core solder to heated parts, not the soldering tip, and heat it until solder melts and flows freely
• Don't apply too much solder unnecessarily

• When the soldering iron is plugged in for the first time, some smoke will come out of the tip. This will stop after a short while and will never come out again
• Use the soldering stand and other aids to avoid burnt fingers
• Don't pull the soldering iron tip outward and us it, this will shorted the life of the heating element
• After you have finished using it, allow it to cool down naturally
• Don't file down the long file tip face

• Never set the appliance down on anything other than the iron stand whether it is in use or not
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a suitably qualified person in order to avoid a hazard
