David Gilmour returns to the historic Pompeii Amphitheater, performing two spectacular shows. He continues to be the only performer to perform in the arena since the gladiators, this time upping the ante from first playing there for Adrian Maben’s Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii 45 years ago. These shows are not only historic, they are an audio-visual experience.

Live In Pompeii

David Gilmour's Live At Pompeii's Pro's And Con's Pro: The concert itself on both disks are fantastic. The music really does hold up after all these years. The Pink Floyd songs are brilliant and even Gilmour's solo songs are well worth the buy. Great for Floyd/Gilmour fans. Not as good as Gilmour's Remember That Night or Pink Floyd's P.U.L.S.E. Which brings me to my Con's Con: Even though the concert are amazing, both disks are +-1 hour long, maybe a bit more. Not very long compared to the other shows out on DVD. The documentary, Pompeii: Then And Now, quite disappointing... Very short. They could have made it longer and why not include tour videos. Nothing special other than the concert. So, great DVD if you're into the music and a show, but just don't expect a P.U.L.S.E DVD. That one still owns the spotlight!
