Originally produced for ITV's South Bank Show, this film captures a
live performance by the London Sinfonietta of Henryk Gorecki's
Symphony No. 3, also known as the Symphony of Sorrowful Songs. Tony
Palmer directs the film, which also includes interviews with the
composer and footage of him visiting Auschwitz.
