Derivan Matisse Structure - Acrylic Paint - 40ml - Oregon (YInMn) Blue

Matisse Structure Formula has a rich and heavy texture that is especially suited to impasto techniques. It is ideal for application with a brush or palette knife and creates striking textured effects. Brush strokes are immediately visible, making it particularly suitable for textured three-dimensional effects. YinMn Blue was discovered by chance in 2009 by Professor Mas Subramanian and Andrew E. Smith, who was then a graduate student at Oregon State University.  YinMn is more environmentally friendly to produce than other blue pigments, and is less toxic than the cobalt-based blue pigments (Cobalt and Cerulean Blue). However, the pigment is very expensive to make due to the elements that it contains, and this makes it less accessible. Read more about YinMn Blue on our blog. All Matisse colours have been specifically formulated to ensure that they will not fade or degrade over time under normal conditions. Each colour has had many years of testing and has been formulated to enable the optimum pigment load with a reliable consistency. Applied undiluted by brush or knife it gives a rich and deep impasto finish.
