2006 release featuring Django's only recordings playing violin!!
His collaborators on this disc include some of the regular members
of his group like Stephane Grappelli, Louis Vola, Andr Ekyan, Bill
Coleman and Eddie South. Grappelli backs Django on many tracks,
playing his second instrument after the violin: the piano. The most
surprising moments of this collection occur on 'Vous et Moi' and
'Blues en Mineur', which were recorded in 1942. Here Django puts
the guitar down for a while and picks up the violin to play two
duets backed by a pianist! His solo on the blues displays what he
could do with Grappelli's instrument. These two sides are the only
existing examples of Django's violin playing.
