Nations greatness is measured by its great literal works. Our poet
we provide here is a great Arab poet, Zuhayr bin Abi Sulma, one of
the great poets in pre-Islamic era. As a respected wise man he
contributed in making peace between Abs and Thibyan tribes early in
Arab history. His Mu'allaqa (Long Poem) is full of wise talk and
samples of compromising conflicts between Arab tribes. We provide

chapters include: translation of the poet life as depicted in
historical literal books, the Mu'allaqa in both original Arabic and
English as well as interpretation. Dr. Hasan Yahya is an Arab
American scholar, scientist and philosopher. He resides in Lansing,
Michigan, and has four children and ten grandchildren.
