1874. This work entails the autobiographical account of Edwin
Eastman's nine year stint with the Camanche and Apache Indians. In
these chapters, Eastman details the trials and sufferings of those
who were snatched from their homes and carried off to the mountain
fastnesses of these Indians. He believes that the experiences of
his wife and himself, during their captivity among the Camanches
and Apaches, will serve as a prototype of many similar cases.
