The Cake Eaters (DVD)

Mary Stuart Masterson directs this small-town ensemble drama. The lives of two families intertwine when the shy, introverted Beagle Kimbrough (Aaron Stanford) sparks the romantic interest of Georgia Kaminski (Kristen Stewart), a terminally ill teenage girl who wants to experience life and love before her time runs out. Meanwhile, Beagle's wayward older brother Guy (Jayce Bartok) returns to town after a failed attempt to become a musician and struggles to connect with his estranged father, recently-widowed town butcher Easy (Bruce Dern).
