Este libro contiene las siete tragedias que se conservan en su totalidad, del poeta, dramaturgo y guerrero griego, Esquilo. Segun records historicos, escribio alrededor de 80 obras teatrales, incluyendo algunos dramas satiricos. Nacido en Eleusis en 525/24 A.C., intervino en las batallas de Maraton y Salamina contra los persas, asi como en otras de las guerras medicas. A Esquilo se le considera el padre de la Tragedia como genero teatral, por ser el autor que introdujo un segundo personaje en el teatro antiguo griego.
