I had heard lots of hype about The Secret... have not read the book or seen the movie.
A friend of mine, also an energy therapist, recommended the above book. She said it had been extremely insightful for her.
I bought it – and one copy for my business partner and began to read.
Immediately the book grabbed my attention; I liked the fact that Esther did not want to be involved… it was not a ‘you just have to do this and you will be rich beyond your dreams – and also pay us $100000 of dollars for the privilege of getting this information’ type of book… it was very easy to read and piqued my interest.
The back cover states… This fascinating book by Esther and Jerry Hicks which presents the teachings of the nonphysical entity Abraham, will help you learn how to manifest your desires so that you’re living the joyous and fulfilling life you deserve.
As you read, you’ll come to understand how your relationships, health issues, finances, career concerns and more are influenced by the Universal laws that govern your time-space-reality – and you’ll discover powerful processes that will help you go with the positive flow of life.
It’s your birthright to live a life filled with everything that is good – and this book will show you how to make it so in every way!
And I really think this book does just that! It is all very well to sit and repeat ad nauseam… I now want and desire a new Mercedes sports car… and wonder why it never arrives in your garage! This book really helps you understand that most of the time you are focusing on what you have (and don’t want) rather than on what you want.
Yes... all well and good you say… easy for them to tell you that. But wait… there’s more! The most important part of this book is that once it explains how we seem to focus on what we have rather than what we want, it gives you 22 different powerful processes to help achieve your goals. And the processes start from the bottom... why are we bothering? Might as well give up etc. and so on, level by level, to help achieve what we want.
It is not a ‘wave a magic wand and all your dreams will immediately come true’ type of book. But it is a thought provoking book that makes perfect sense to me – and also makes those dreams a lot closer to fruition!
The foreword is written by Dr Wayne Dyer – and there are also words of praise for the Teachings of Abraham from such people as Neale Donald Walsch, John Gray, Louise Hay, Jack Canfield and more.
I have since bought two more copies for my step-daughters… they are also enjoying reading this book.
And no... my new car is not yet in my garage… but that is because I am focusing my energies on another goal. Getting my new house built! And yes… things are definitely working towards that goal already!
