EVERYONE'S FAVORITE SLEUTHING JOURNALIST IS BACK Eugenie D. West's
'Reporting is Murder'(c) series continues with her dazzling new
thriller, SPIN. Set against the exciting and intricate world of a
touring rock band, SPIN affords readers a glimpse into the
passions, the pettiness, and the pitfalls of the private world of
rock stars, a realm seldom revealed to outsiders. When Aidan Perry,
lead singer and composer for the classic rock band Mirage, is found
dead in his dressing room just moments before a gig, Berkshire
County Chief Detective Jack Draper is tasked with finding the
culprit. To complicate things, Jack's former girlfriend, sleuthing
reporter Gracie Barufaldi, is on the scene, along with her current
flame and long time friend of the slain star, high powered lawyer
Ben Holmes. Jack and Gracie, although no longer a couple,
nonetheless work together to solve the crime: Jack uses his
resourcefulness, his training and his expertise to uncover clues
and identify suspects, while Gracie brings her usual 'outside the
box' thinking and uncanny knack for pulling together disparate bits
of information to the case. Set in the beautiful Berkshire
Mountains of Western Massachusetts, SPIN is brimming with what have
become the hallmarks of West's writing: vibrant, unforgettable
characters, surprising developments, and intriguing revelations.
West's decade-plus of reporting on a range of stars in the music
industry imbues SPIN, the fifth book in the 'Reporting is
Murder'(c) series, with authenticity and excitement. Author Eugenie
D. West lives in a rural part of the northeastern U.S., holds an
M.A. in English from Boston College and is fluent in several
languages. West was a news reporter for more than 15 years, and an
entertainment reporter for regional and national publications for
more than 10. She also worked in a branch of law enforcement and
ran her own entertainment PR firm for several years. Because West
takes to heart the motto, 'write what you know best, ' protagonist
Gracie Barufaldi-the star of the 'Reporting is Murder'(c) series-
is a journalist for a rural newspaper, and an Italian, curly-haired
version of the author (who is French, and only has curls with a
perm ). Like West, Gracie is also an inventive and intuitive chef
who loves to cook for her extended family and friends. West (and
Gracie) enjoys gardening and traveling; both are animal lovers.
West in particular shares her home with a cat, and her surrounding
property with deer, wild turkeys, coyotes, foxes, and a very large
black bear who makes an appearance at her bird feeders in the
spring. Find West on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Goodreads and on
