This is the story, mostly in pictures, of my walk around the 78
mile Capital Ring in London. The "twice" refers to the fact that, I
did the walk twice, once with and once without my camera. The
guidebook I used, was 'The Capital Ring ' by Colin Saunders. But,
rather than reading the book as I went along, I decided to record
each section onto my MiniDisc recorder, using the recording as my
guide. Because of my wonderfully random way of organising, some of
the photographs have captions, and some do not. They are however
grouped together in the sections, which are found in the book. Most
of the sections of fairly short, -less than 7 miles, but you
obviously can cobble some of sections together, if you are that way
inclined. A difference from my book on the London Loop, is that I
have included two poems. The first concerns, the rules and
regulations, that used to adorn the notice boards at the entrance
to Highgate Woods; before being removed, presumably by some
committee of humourless bureaucrats. The good news is, that as well
as the poem, I have a photograph of the noticeboard, before the
desicration. The second poem, I wrote about the problems I
encountered almost at the end of the walk. Fortunately, at the
time, I had luck on my side, otherwise, it might well have been t
the end of me. As it was, I escaped with a few scratches and
bruises. These were caused by my using practices normally reserved
for the mountains, rather than on wire mesh fences Some readers may
notice, that a few of my photographs appear in both books of my
'Twice Around The Town' series. The reason for this, has probably
something to do with Quantum Mechanics (If you do not understsand
Quantum Mechanics...... do not worry, neither does anyone else )
