1913. Stratton-Porter was an American feminist, environmentalist,
photographer and one of Indiana's most famous female authors. Many
of her writings were moralistic and romantic novels. Laddie is a
wonderful child's book and is thought to be based on her brother
Leander who drowned in the Wabash River. Due to the age and
scarcity of the original we reproduced, some pages may be spotty or
