Designed to help the reader develop strategies for observing and
interpreting children's play activities, using case studies drawn
from challenging classroom environments. The text aims to
illustrate: what teachers can learn from observing children at
play; how they can use play to gain insights into how children are
interpreting the experiences offered to them in different areas of
the curriculum; and that play need not be confined to the early
years.
