What is the GMC Personal Cooler?
The GMC Personal Cooler is an environmentally-friendly and cost-friendly cooling option for your personal space. Unlike other air coolers on the market, the GMC Personal Cooler is built with performance and safety first and contains the fan within the enclosed unit, making it the safest and most efficient air cooler on the market. Much like a breeze flowing across a lake or the refreshing cool air you feel near a waterfall, air coolers produce a comfortable, cool breeze with the natural process of water evaporation and this is all done within the enclosed unit.
Is the GMC Personal Cooler Bladeless?
In short, yes, it is, the fan is contained within the unit and contains no outside-facing blades, we are the only company in South Africa to offer this safety and design feature on an air cooler available on the market currently. The advantages to you are greater cooling efficiency, great airflow and peace of mind knowing all moving parts are contained safely within the unit itself.
How does the GMC - Personal Cooler Work?
Using the water/ice tray at the back of the machine, you will need to fill the machine with clean water to the correct fill line and then optionally add 1 X Ice pack to the tray. Warm air then enters the rear filter and is cooled as it passes through water infused pads. Dust and other pollutants are extracted from the air as it flows through the cooling mechanism, the results is a constant flow of fresh, cool air.
How do the Ice packs work?
The GMC Personal Cooler comes with 2 X 50ml Ice packs. We have supplied 2 ice packs so you are able to use them on rotation with 1 pack in the machine and 1 pack in the freezer, ready for when you need to swap them out, this is so you have constant access to a cooling ice pack. Please do not attempt to use more than 1 ice pack at a time as this will not allow enough room for water in the tank and may cause the machine to malfunction.
How is the GMC Personal Cooler different from a standard fan?
Normal fans use fan blades to circulate air around the room without offering any cooling. The GMC Personal cooler uses the natural process of water evaporation to cool incoming hot air and use a powerful turbofan to evenly distribute newly cooled air. The temperature of dry air can drop significantly when liquid water transforms into water vapor (through evaporation).
Does the GMC Personal Cooler require a lot of electricity?
The GMC Personal Cooler consumes very little electricity. Running the GMC Personal Cooler requires significantly less electricity than running an air conditioning unit, making them an attractive cooling medium in cities where electricity cost is high.
Is the GMC Personal Cooler effective in humid environments?
The GMC Personal Cooler is more effective in environments with a maximum relative humidity of 60% or less. It is ideal for climates such as the Free State, Northern Cape, Gauteng, Limpopo, North West Province. Warm, dry air is important for more effective air cooling and the temperature decrease will be greater in drier environments because higher evaporation occurs when the humidity is low.
If you live in a humid location, air coolers can still be a welcomed, energy-saving cooling mechanism for your home by scheduling the air cooler to switch on at specific, drier times during the day, for example, during the hottest hours of the afternoon.
