White Fang is one of the great books written by Jack London. He
uses his unique style of writing to describe the animals and their
surrounding in a very interesting manner. The story takes place in
Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories, Canada, during the
1890s Klondike Gold Rush and details White Fang's journey to
domestication. It is a companion novel (and a thematic mirror) to
London's best-known work, The Call of the Wild, which is about a
kidnapped, domesticated dog embracing his wild ancestry to survive
and thrive in the wild. White Fang is part dog and part wolf. He
soon learns to follow the harsh law of the North--kill or be
killed. White Fang experiences the violent world of wild animals
and the equally violent world of humans. As well as the kind nature
of humans and how hard it can be for a wild animal to adapt to
humans and their way of life. If you like animals, especially dogs
you have to read this book.
