pools: primarily pool owners (including local authority clients),
pool operators (including management contractors), architects,
engineers, designers, manufacturers and constructors. Aspects of
this guidance will also apply to pool hirers. Its aim is to provide
guidance on the risks associated with swimming pool operation and
the precautions which may be taken to help achieve a safer
environment for people who use swimming pools and employees who
work at them. The revision brings the guidance up to date with
changes in health and safety law and new developments in relation
to equipment, facilities and supervision arrangements.
