Auguste Rodin conquered the German art scene through a series of
exhibitions in Dresden, Munich, Berlin, Leipzig, Weimar and
Dusseldorf. Rodin's art was first purchased by a German museum in
1894. But it wasn't his art alone that fascinated scholars and the
public alike. The unique way of presenting the sculptures in
combination with Rodin's sketches and fragments provided insight
into the artist's process of creation, letting visitors of the
exhibition virtually step into the master's atelier. German text.
