Hilary Griffiths conducts the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra in this
production of Wolfgang Fortner's opera based on Federico García
Lorca's tragic play 'Bodas de Sangre'. The opera tells the story of
a bride (Banu Böke) and groom (Gregor Henze) and two feuding
families. When his wife runs away with her ex-lover (Thomas Laske),
whose family killed his father and brother, the groom goes after
them and ultimately fulfils a prophecy of crime.
