selten prazise interpretiert worden, und dies, obwohl es sich um
ein Schlusselwerk der antiken wie der mittelalterlichen Ethik, der
Staats- und der Geschichtsphilosophie handelt. Sein Einfluss ist so
erheblich, dass man das Staatsdenken des Mittelalters als
"Politischen Augustinismus" bezeichnen konnte. Im Mittelpunkt des
