Ata is a philosophy deeply grounded in traditional Maori knowledge.
This philosophy is all about reseactfull inter-relational practices
and has been applied in social services in new Zealand. This book
is the result of a Master of Education study which considered
adapting the philosophy of Ata into an education context. The
research carried out looked at the results of applying the
philosophy of Ata as a theory of best practice in teaching on a
teacher education program. The results were very conclusive and
herald a new approach to how we interact with our learners.
