Dr Jan Luijten (1932), a neurologist and psychiatrist by
profession, was living in Bergen op Zoom during the Second World
War. He describes the battles of the Canadian forces for the
liberation of the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant in this well
documented and finely illustrated book. The author offers
interesting new insights into the fighting and the decisions made
by the Allied Commanders and their German counterparts.
