Richard Bray, predestined to follow generations of West Point
graduates and career military meets Austin Jennings, a son of Texas
heritage and a four-generation ranching empire. During their
forty-seven month experience at the United States Military Academy
the two become best friends, and as the story evolves, worst
enemies. Eventually, Richard falls in love with Austin's younger
sister, Callie, and they marry. As the next twenty-three years
unfold, Richard discovers that Austin's hatred towards him was
triggered by the death of a young woman at West Point and could
threaten his present and future. While seeking to fully understand
Austin's hatred, Richard begins to realize that past secrets and
vows are beginning to disintegrate. As Richard unravels the
mystery, he is caught in the middle of an unbelievably far-reaching
cover-up involving family and people in high places. His
relationship with Callie, allegiance to the family, and his career
are all in jeopardy as his honor is placed on the line and put to
the test.
