Robbie Armstrong has been fired from his hi-tech executive
position, his wife has left him for good and he's lost all his
severance and savings in a supposedly foolproof stock scheme.
Robbie buys a bus ticket to anywhere with the money he's got left
and ends up in a small town in Iowa, where he encounters Katie
Johnson, 28, who's lost her top corporate marketing job and now
works as a waitress at McBurger Palace. Robbie gets a job washing
dishes at Pop's Diner, which has seen better days and is about to
go under. Katie quits her job at fast-food McBurger Palace and
joins Robbie help elderly Mom and Pop save the family diner. Robbie
and Kate make a spectacular business comeback sticking to
traditional American values, proving money isn't everything. In the
span of a few rough days, Robbie Armstrong finds just how easy it
is to lose everything: an executive position at a top company, a
beautiful wife and every cent of his savings. But soon he finds out
that the few dollars in his pocket is all he needs for his fresh
start far away from the big city, where the friendly locals, a
dying business and one special woman help him get his life back on
track.
