After a child is born one of the most important gifts we can bestow upon them is a name. A persons name is more than just a label or tag, while it is likely that few would have enjoyed success or advancement because of a good name there is little doubt that a poorly considered or inappropriate name can hold you back. While there are books containing larger lists of names available these are all too often impractical and the task of filtering can be overwhelming. Within this collection you will not find names such as Moon-Unit or Starburst, if these are the sorts of names you are after then I suggest you look elsewhere. When choosing a name remember that this little child in your arms will grow and their name needs to follow them throughout their lives and into their chosen profession. It is difficult to imagine a future containing too many Dr Moon-Units or Senator Starbursts. Do not think, though, that this is a collection of old fashioned and outdated names. There are names both old and modern, but we have sought to filter out names that may seem funny now but are only going to embarrass into the future retaining those which we are confident will stand the test of time.
