All the furious action we feel we're entitled to in a Jason Statham movie is here in full measure - as further adventures of Chev Chelios (Statham) continue from the original 2006 picture, Crank.
Following an "accident" involving his falling out of a helicopter from a great height, Chev's heart has been removed by a group of Chinese medics, and replaced by a clear plastic artificial one. This artificial organ is powered by an external battery pack, which is connected to him. So before the battery pack runs out of power, Chev must somehow get his own heart back and replaced in his body! It presently beats in the breast of elderly Triad leader Poon Dong (David Carradine) - a very dangerous and influential man indeed!
The story is fast-paced, and told in almost comic-book fashion, with parts being very funny - but it is by no means a children's picture. Some of the sequences are gruesomely graphic, and the language is largely of a four-letter word nature. Watch for newcomer Amy Smart who plays blonde heroine Eve Lydon - a really good-looking lady...who can act as well.
You can’t keep a good man down.
Jason Statham is back as Chev Chelios – this time to retrieve his stolen heart (that’s right, he’s running on battery power).
High-octane and truly electrifying!
