Out of the box and does not charge or switch on

Just received it 19-Jun-2020, brought it for my youngest son birthday. Took it out of the box and asked him to "Make it his own" then brought to charge that is when the issues started. The unit is not charging plugged in with an other JBL cable and no charge light, tired to switch it on and nothing. I've tried both Cable on my eldest son JBL and it works and charges, that unit arrived at the same time as the "Teal" (problem unit). Now it is such a nuisance that first I would have to order an return, second is that I would have to explain to my youngest son that his birthday present is not working and he will need to watch his brother use his, while we wait for the item to be returned and an new one sent after. Can Loot not send the new unit the same time as their collection of return?
