philosopher during the Warring States Period. An early ethical
egoist alternative to Mohist and Confucian thought, Yang Zhu's
surviving ideas, known as Yangism, appear primarily in the Chinese
texts Huainanzi, Lushi Chunqiu, Mengzi, and possibly the Liezi and
Zhuangzi.
