What is Elder Cool Time? You are Elder Cool if you decide it is
time to teach others based on the wisdom of your aging process.
Elder represents a purpose-evolving life experienced teacher, and
cool is accepting the aging process with grace and dignity. Elder
Cool is grace under challenge, and you decide it is time to live a
quality life despite physical, social, financial, or emotional
limitations with a sense of humor. You may never have a classroom,
or realize you are a teacher as you go through life, but you teach
by what you say or do, whether you choose to or not. Wisdom
scripture, such as Ecclesiastes, Psalms, Proverbs, and the Sermon
on the Mount, provide guidelines for becoming Elder Cool.
You might be Elder Cool if you know when it is time to turn in your
driver's license. It might be time to turn in your driver's license
if there is no drive- thru at the convenience store, but you made
one.
It might be time to face and embrace your physical maladies if your
head bedpost is propped up on a half dozen concrete blocks to deal
with acid reflux.
It might be time to talk about the unmentionables: Finances,
Funerals, and Flatulence. It might be time to plan your funeral if
you get a panic attack when you hear, "What do you want on your
Tombstone?" and realize later the family is ordering pizza.
It might be time to be sex wise if you have been dreaming every
night about living in a nudist colony.
It might be time to dress smart if your pants legs are so short you
could easily tread in two feet of water and not get them wet.
It might be time to have a faith check if you keep pinching the
lady usher at worship.
