Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

Thu, 1 Aug 2013 | Review by: Micky B

With a hand-picked cast haded up by Dame Judi Dench and Maggie Smith, this British romantic comedy has been described by overseas critics as “a refreshing, mature fairy tale, “ and “a lulling happy-face tory of retirement-age self-renewal, set in a shimmering, weltering, jewel-colored India." respectively. And these comments just about say it all. It was nominated for no less than sixteen international awards, many of which it won. It is actually several stories in one, with each culminating in the individual's (or couples') arriving at the picturesque hotel of the title at roughly the same time – and then their subsequent interaction together. Towards the end, it would appear that the beloved hotel is to be sold. Is this really to be the case...? Filmed in delightful colour that compliments the best of India in the story; it goes without saying that the acting by all the seasoned veterans of the cast make it flawless!
