This book is evolved as a result of the research work done by the
second author under the guidance of first author for his Ph.D
degree in computer science. The need for design and development of
highly sophisticated equipment for utilizing the modern
technological advancements have motivated to do research in Image
segmentation and image analysis. The aim of this book is to provide
an insight for utilizing probability models for efficient image
processing and analysis. This book serve as a text book/monograph
for students working in Computer science/Computer engineering/
Information Technology/ Statistics/Mathematics/ Electronics and
Communication Engineering. This book is almost designed such a way
that it is useful for young researchers and expert researchers to
utilize advanced level statistical techniques in Image Processing
and analysis. This book reflects the authors experience in teaching
and research in Digital image processing, Computer Vision, Pattern
recognition, Data mining at their respective institutions.
