In this book, Adam revived the Pauline understanding of the church
as the mystical Body of Christ, showed how one could incorporate
new forms of thought in Catholic theology rather than rely
exclusively on scholastic language, and envisioned the Catholic
faith coming to expression within non-Western cultures.
