"Welcome to the Family" is the third story in the "Connie and
Friends" series by Ann Lovell and Kathy Thacker. In this story of
international adoption, two new characters are welcomed to the
Anderson family. Kendall, a 5-year-old Guatemalan girl, is adopted
into the family along with Whiskers, a white Brazilian rabbit. Both
Kendall and Whiskers are initially anxious about their new
surroundings, but both come to understand what it means to be part
of a family. A story of love and acceptance, "Welcome to the
Family" is perfect for middle elementary students or for parents
and grandparents to read to younger children.
