Kerstin Fink untersucht Kunstkommunikation erstmals aus oeffentlichkeitssoziologischer Perspektive. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, inwieweit die Kunstoeffentlichkeit zur Perspektiverweiterung von politischer OEffentlichkeit beitragt. Die Autorin zeichnet nach, dass die politische OEffentlichkeit historisch auf den institutionellen Plattformen der literarischen OEffentlichkeit errichtet wurde. Aber auch in der Kunstoeffentlichkeit der Gegenwart spielt politische Kommunikation eine wichtige Rolle. Eine Inhaltsanalyse der Kunstberichterstattung der Leitmedien zeigt, dass die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit gesellschaftlichen Problemen in diesem Forum fest verankert ist. Insgesamt ist in der Kunstberichterstattung eine Fortsetzung der politischen Kritik mit anderen Mitteln zu beobachten.
