Chromatastic!

In the past few years, Lady GaGa had toned down her image as well as her music with projects such as "Cheek to Cheek" (with Tony Bennett), her fifth album "Joanne" and the soundtrack for "A Star Is Born." Many of her die-hard fans wondered if she would ever return to her dance pop roots. The release of "Stupid Love" provided that glimpse of hope that GaGa was returning to the music that she is most well-known for: dance pop.
"Chromatica" is split into three "acts" which are divided by instrumental interludes. The album has no ballads but still provides an array of music genres with a strong focus on 90s house music. "Rain on Me," "Free Woman" and "Alice" have that reminiscent 90s house music vibe that would have you dancing up in the clubs until wee hours of the morning. GaGa also provides us with 70s/80s influence such as "Stupid Love" and the disco sounding "Replay." She gets in touch with her voguer in the song "Babylon" which may sound like a reminiscent of Madonna's "Vogue" but still remains true to its roots in ballroom music and would make for an excellent trailer song for the third season of "Pose."
The collaborations fit perfectly onto the album starting with Ariana Grande on the Billboard number one hit "Rain on Me." The infectious 90s house beat of "Sour Candy" which features South Korea's finest in the form of BLACKPINK. The most surprising collaboration is with Sir Elton John and not because it is a collaboration with him but more so for the fact that the song is an electronic dance song ("Sine from Above") that concludes with a 20 second Drum 'n Bass influence.
The lyrical content touches on topics of positivity ("Stupid Love") to hurt ("Fun Tonight"), pain ("Replay") and upliftment ("Rain on Me").
To conclude, "Chromatica" is 43 minutes of pure dance pop perfection suited for all occasions!
