Originally published in the 1840s, this colorful morality tale for
young children features Fred Fearnought, a brave and virtuous young
lad who goes to sea. First he saves his captain from sure death at
the hands of a foe. Then he battles pirates and rescues a young
lady who had been taken captive. They marry and return home to a
life of honor, love, and wealth.
