The Criminal Appeal Act 1995 has significantly changed the way in
which criminal appeals will be dealt with in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland. Its wide-ranging provisions affect not only
proceedings in the appellate courts but are also directed towards
the creation of the Criminal Cases review Commission, due to become
operational during late 1996.
