Coming from a large family of 10 children, Linda heard her parents,
grandparents, siblings and other relatives telling tales during
family visits and family functions as she grew up. Linda joined the
Police Department in Chicago and heard tales on the streets daily.
Today she has retired from the Chicago Police Department and
surrounds herself with giggling grandchildren who love to hear her
tales. Linda D Griffith is The Fictician. The Fictician; a person
who tells tales of fiction, comes to you with eight tales of
intrigue, pain, sorrow, and disbelief. The stories are written in a
manner that draws the reader into the voice in their head and makes
them believe that they are in the story, in the struggle right
along with the characters in the story. The reader can identify and
develop feelings for the characters as they move along the story
living their roles. In the first story, 'Bloody Hands', the female
in the story tells how she came to know that she had killed a man
after coming to the rescue of her brother when he was being
attacked by a gang of violent gamblers. 'Bloody Hands' is engaging
and filled with emotion. 'His Fare to Jackson' is a story of a
family tortured by the dissatisfaction of the Patriarch at living
up north. He frequently got drunk and threatened the grandmother's
life while demanding to be given his fare back home. His behavior
one hot summer night changed the lives of his family forever. In 'I
Bear Witness', the poor simple soul telling the story explains how
he unwittingly became a witness to a murder and how helpless he was
to prevent it as the victim locked eyes with him the entire time.
'Nightmare Freight' deals with a town of mischievous kids taking
advantage of a striking railroad system and how it ended in the
death of one of them. 'The Fork in the Road' is a tale of a young
boy trying to deal with racism and bullying. His actions result in
a death and the upheaval of his entire family as well as grief and
pain to
