Will seventeen-year-old Mai Vo discover the identity of Mr. Tran?
Under darkness of the warm Vietnamese nights, with Mr. Tran's long,
black trench coat, felt fedora and deep voice, Mai is intrigued
with the unknown.
As her life is about to take a decisive turn, Mai is falling in
love with Mr. Tran. She believes receiving a rose from him every
night must signify his love for her.
It is time for Mai and mother's escape to America. Leaving her
homeland, her brother and Mr. Tran, is devastating for Mai. Will
she ever see her brother his wife again? Will Mai and Mr. Tran meet
again?
