This study presents the operations of the 9th Infantry in October
and November of 1918. Lessons learned include the value of surprise
and cooperation, the necessity of security, the degree of training
involved for particular operations (especially for night
operations/darkness), moral as a determining factor to success in
battle, and the care needed in designating positions. There are two
maps; one shows the operations of the 9th Infantry in October, and
the second shows the dates in November.
