The arrival of the TOFEL[registered] iBT has created a stir in the
academic community. "The Michigan Guide to Teaching EAP Skills for
the TOFEL[registered] iBT" is the first of its kind: a teaching
guide that offers support for the teachers and more English for
Academic Purposes (EAP) practice for students preparing for the
iBT. "The Michigan Guide" provides a discussion on teaching each
academic skill plus tips and strategies for teachers. Although it
was designed to be used in conjunction with "The Michigan Guide to
English for Academic Success and Better TOFEL[registered] Test
Scores", it can be used to support any TOEFL-preparation course.
"The Michigan Guide to Teaching EAP Skills" features: a variety of
activities for teaching reading, listening, writing, and speaking;
reproducible material to develop academic skills; two complete
practice tests and two mini-tests (designed for use in one class
period); and, audio CDs containing all material for listening and
integrated tasks.
