Lysa TerKeurst, in her familiar, down-to-earth, relatable style, shares her insight to unpack and answer a big question, “Is God Speaking to Me?” With Scripture as her starting point, Lysa enlightens the reader on how to hear God’s voice, every day. She encourages one with prayers and explains through anecdotes what it looks like to live this out. “Each day when I wake up I pray a very simple prayer even before my feet hit the floor. God, I want to see You. God, I want to hear You. God, I want to know You. God, I want to follow hard after You. And even before I know what I will face today, I say yes to You. However, I love the way Lysa distills complex topics into easy-to-remember and live concepts. She creates 5 simple questions to ponder if it is God speaking and her joy for time with God is inspiring! “No longer is your day just one task after another, but rather a string of divine appointments and hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.” From “Is God Speaking to Me?” by Lysa TerKeurst This is one to park in, come back to and enjoy. I found it refreshing, a great reminder to be still with God and savour the gift His presence is as well as a call to seek His input in my day more frequently. I highly recommend it, it’s a five out of five on the enJOYment scale!

Practical and relatable

Lysa Terkeurst is an inspiration and her ability to relate to people and lead them to God is deeply encouraging. This short book may be an easy read, but to really feel the benefit I’d recommend spending time in it, looking at the scriptures and investing in the activities. Perhaps revisit it from time-to-time as I fell sure that you’ll find more wisdom with each reading. I loved how the author outlined the process she follows to discern which messages are from God (as opposed to her thoughts). She has 5 questions she asks, and we can do the same. She covers many other practices that, if adopted, will certainly help you on your journey’. Its this practical and relatable approach that makes a Lysa Terkeurst book always worth the read. I’m grateful for her contribution, for her generosity and the difference she makes in my and so many others lives.
