international Communism. Manfred B. Steger is Assistant Professor
of Politics at Illinois State University and the author of The
Quest for Evolutionary Socialism: Eduard Bernstein and Social
Democracy (Cambridge, 1997). Terrell Carver is Professor of
Political Theory at the University of Bristol, England. He is the
author of Friedrich Engels: His Life and Thought (Macmillan, 1989)
and co-editor of Rational Choice Marxism (Penn State,1995).
