This book is a case study of a teacher education reform initiative.
We-teachers in schools and a university-write together about our
attempts to reform our teacher education program. We use both
narrative and systematic studies to analyze in detail our reform
initiatives-the changes we designed, the complex demands and
learning that occurred over time, the longitudinal influence on our
graduates, and the ongoing research and program evaluation that
informed our decision making. The chapters of this book are written
to be somewhat free standing. Each chapter concludes with a summary
of what we learned and a list of discussion questions to tie our
work to bigger issues and to encourage further dialogue.
