English summary: For the sake of their own identity, churches keep referring to documents from their own history, especially from their founding history. Churches are aware that these documents record fundamental decisions that remain relevant for their self-image. With the help of such texts, it is possible to clarify how churches can fulfill their mandate and how Christians can live their faith and lives in practice. This volume presents the three key documents of the Bernese Reformation in the form of an accessible contemporary translation: the "Disputationsthesen" (disputation theses), the "Reformationsmandat" (mandate for reformation) and the "Berner Synodus" (a code of conduct for parish priests). These papers distinguished the Bernese church and defined its unique nature. Both the disputation theses as well as the Berner Synodus provided reformed theology with significant insights, and some of its passages are regarded as jewels of the Reformation. German description: Um ihrer Identitat willen beziehen sich Kirchen immer wieder auf Texte aus ihrer Geschichte, vor allem aus ihrer Grundungsgeschichte. Sie sind sich bewusst, dass in diesen Dokumenten grundlegende Entscheidungen festgehalten sind, die fur ihr Selbstverstandnis nach wie vor relevant sind. Im Gesprach mit diesen Texten kann fur die eigene Gegenwart geklart werden, wie Kirchen ihren Auftrag wahrnehmen und wie Christen ihr Glauben und Leben ausgestalten konnen. In diesem Buch werden die drei zentralen Dokumente der Berner Reformation, die Disputationsthesen, das Reformationsmandat und der Synodus, welche die Berner Kirche gepragt und ihr ein unverwechselbares Profil gegeben haben, in zeitgemasser Ubersetzung zuganglich gemacht. Sowohl die Disputationsthesen als auch der Berner Synodus haben der reformatorischen Theologie wichtige Einsichten vermittelt; manche ihrer Formulierungen gehoren zu den Perlen der Reformation.
