"I owed you one," said Marilius. When Julius and Marilius were
teenagers Julius saved Marilius from a deadly snake bite. Later
Marilius saved Julius from drowning. This Julius is the only Julius
mentioned in the Bible. The Bible tells us that Julius becomes
friends with Paul, the apostle. When Paul is in the hands of Roman
officials and appeals to Nero Caesar, Julius, now a Roman
centurion, has the responsibility of taking Paul on the perilous
voyage to Rome. His association with Paul, and what he learns about
Jesus Christ make a profound difference in his life. You may have
been wondering about Julius' background and his life beyond the
account given in the Acts of the Apostles. The author gives you his
conjectures about these matters.
